How Did Devdutt Padikkal Turn His Fortunes Around After A Lean Patch?

Karnataka’s opener and LSG’s prodigy, Devdutt Padikkal, have made a strong comeback to form after scoring his third century in the ongoing Ranji season.

Devdutt Padikkal had a firm belief in himself, saying that he was confident of making a strong comeback after a forgetful season with the bat in the previous edition.

The young, talented batsman had to make regular visits to the hospital as he faced an intestinal issue in 2022. Devdutt had an ordinary season, with the bat scoring only 260 runs in seven games.

However, in this Ranji season, Devdutt has been in red-hot form and has scored three hundred, becoming the highest scorer for his team with a tally of 500+.

Devdutt said that he knew that he was not able to perform for a couple of years, which resulted in his dip in form; however, he knew that he would be able to make a comeback.
Padikkal hit 151 runs on 216 balls, which included 12 boundaries and six sixes during his innings.

Before this inning, Padikkal had scored 193 against Punjab and 103 against Goa. Padikkal has been an opener both for his state team and in the IPL, but he is batting at number three this season.

On speaking about his batting position, Padikkal said that it’s all part of the team’s plan, and he is happy that he is able to perform as per the team’s plan. Padikkal played for the Rajasthan Royals in the previous season but has been traded to the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of this year’s IPL.
