Heading: Sachin Tendulkar’s Record Shattered by Musheer Khan in Ranji Trophy

Mumbai got themselves into a dominant position when Musheer Khan and Shreyas Iyer helped their side get a lead of more than 500 runs. Musheer Khan became the hero of the finals as he scored a brilliant hundred in the final against Vidharbha.

Musheer first added 130 runs with skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who made a half century (73) in the final of the tournament after having a mediocre season with the bat. Musheer strayed from Mumbai’s lead, adding another partnership alongside Shreyas Iyer (95), who found his rhythm.

Musheer took his time to score runs. He did not go hard on every delivery; instead, he focused on timing the ball. Musheer scored a hundred (136) for Mumbai after his failure in the first inning of the match, scoring just six runs out of 12 deliveries.

Musheer, who is currently 19 years and 41 days old, became the youngest batter from Mumbai to score a hundred in the Ranji Trophy. Musheer broke the record of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who scored two hundred against Punjab in the final of the 1994–95 season.

Musheer played this knock when his team needed it the most, as they lost two wickets in quick succession.
