“Head up champ…” DJ Bravo and Kieron Pollard have a special message for Maphaka after the match against SRH

Carabian all-rounder duo Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard have come in support of Kwena Maphaka after the young South African pacer had a forgetful debut for the Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Maphaka, who was player of the tournament in the under-19 World Cup, went on to give away 66 runs in his four overs as the Sunrisers scored 277/3 while batting first.

Maphaka’s recorded the joint worst figures by an overseas bowler in the IPL, with Kieron Pollard and Dwyane Bravo coming in support of the young fast bowler. 

Bravo encouraged Maphaka to keep his chin up and not doubt his abilities because of this match against the Sunrisers. Bravo further said that Maphaka will definitely bounce back.

Bravo said, “Keep your head up, Champ! Kwena Maphaka I’m sure you will definitely bounce back, and don’t let this one-off game make you start to doubt yourself. It’s a great challenge for you, and you will only get better as the tournament goes on.” 

Kieron Pollard also encouraged the young pacer and told him that he has a lot to achieve from here on! 

Pollard said, “Head up, young man. There are greater things to achieve. I’m sure your family, friends, and loved ones are very proud of you. tough first day at the office, but I loved how you kept coming. #greaterthingsinstore #future looks bright. #17yearsyoung, we believe in giving youngsters a platform, @mumbaiindians.”

The Mumbai Indians will now face the Rajasthan Royals on April 1 at Wankhede Stadium
