He Will Be Ready For 2024 T20 World Cup By The End Of IPL, Kevin Pietersen Strong Verdict On This Star Indian Cricketer

Former England great Kevin Pietersen has praised the wicket-keeper batter of Delhi Capitals Rishabh Pant. He said that by the end of the Indian Premier League 2024, Pant will be ready for the upcoming T20 World Cup for India.

Pietersen commended the performance of DC’s captain in their convincing 6-wicket win over GT on April 17, stating that Pant’s fitness has showcased his readiness for the T20 World Cup starting on June 1, 2024. Pant was awarded the Player of the Match for his exceptional wicketkeeping skills and strategic captaincy decisions.

Pietersen praised Pant in an interview with Star Sports, highlighting how the wicketkeeper-batsman seems ready to participate in the T20 World Cup.

“He’s (Pant) doing a pretty good job… I thought his mobility tonight was something that gave him great encouragement. That will give Team India great encouragement. He needs game time, of course, everybody needs game time when they’re coming back from an injury. He’s coming back from a horrific injury, so game time is what he needs to get himself into a T20 World Cup, to have played 14,15,16,17 games. It’s a big thing leading into a T20 World Cup, so if he does go and they (DC) do play that much cricket, he will be so ready,” Pietersen said.

While chasing the target of 90 runs, DC started strongly with Jake Fraser-McGurk’s quickfire 20 off 10 balls. This was followed by impressive explosive batting from Shai Hope and Abishek Porel.
