‘He Should Focus On Improving His Weakness. It Reminds Me Of Myself’, Sehwag Huge Suggestion To MI Batter

The young Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Varma caught the attention of former Indian opener Virender Sehwag with his impressive performances. Sehwag is well impressed by Varma’s skills and now he has provided valuable advice to the MI batter who is showing his excellent game after his debut in 2022.

While making a statement to the NDTV, the former Indian opener Virender Sehwag suggested that Tilak Varma should improve his fitness and should work on other skills as well.

“He should focus on 2 things; improve his fitness, and identify the skills that he can work on, as well as the mindset. It often happens when you play regular cricket, you change yourself with time. But when you’re not playing cricket, you have to focus on your fitness and your skills. Like Suryakumar Yadav, he practiced a lot for his shots,” said Sehwag.

Virender Sehwag further said that Tilak Varman should not only emphasize on improving his strengths but also urged him to work on his weaknesses. Sehwag drew a comparison between himself and Varma. Sehwag pointed out his own debut for the Indian cricket team as a reference.

“Tilak Varma should focus on improving his weakness. It reminds me of myself, when I played for India for the first time in 1999, I was dismissed by Shoaib Akhtar. Before I could bring my bat down, the ball hit my pad. So, Dada (Sourav Ganguly) told me one thing… go back, and practice against fast bowling, so you come better prepared. I used to play in middle order, I got spin, and by the time fast bowlers came, I had already scored a century. Likewise, Tilak Varma needs to look at where his weaknesses are,” said Sehwag.
