Former Indian Test captain and one of the legends of the game Anil Kumble has talked about the inclusion of Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav in the Indian Test squad. He said that Kuldeep should not only be there in the squad but also in the playing XI whenever a chance comes.
The left arm spinner has not been selected in India’s Test squad for the ongoing series against the West Indies. Instead, he has been chosen for the white-ball squad on this tour only. In the Test squad, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel have been included in the squad.
While having a conversation with Jio Cinema, Anil Kumble was asked whether Kuldeep Yadav should be there in the Indian Test squad or not, Kumble came with an interesting answer.
The former leggie said,”He should definitely be there because he is a very good bowler. Leg-spinners are very attacking bowlers and it is also difficult at times, they concede runs as well but you need to take a leg-spinner along with you and groom him, and whenever you get a chance, he should be given an opportunity.”
Kumble highlighted that Kuldeep Yadav has always performed brilliantly whenever he has got an opportunity.
Kumble said,”Kuldeep Yadav is a very good spinner for Test matches. He has given very good performances whenever he has got a chance as well. There are a lot of wrist-spinners in white-ball formats. We are not getting to see them much in Test matches.”
Kuldeep Yadav has played eight Test matches for India so far in which he has clinched 34 wickets with an average of 21.55.
