Former Indian left-handed batter Yuvraj Singh has praised Rinku Singh for his impressive T20I batting performance, particularly after his successful stint with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023. After his outstanding contributions, Rinku earned a spot in the national team for the Ireland series.
In the Ireland series, Rinku showcased his aggressive cricket and contributed significantly to India’s victories. His consistent form made him a strong contender for a spot in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Yuvraj Singh commented on Rinku, drawing parallels to himself, and asserted that the batter is currently the finest left-handed batter in India. The former cricketer emphasised Rinku’s strategic acumen, noting his ability to choose the right moments to attack and remain composed under pressure.
‘He’s probably the best left-hander in the Indian squad right now. He reminds me of myself – he knows when to attack, when to rotate strike, and he’s incredibly smart under pressure. He can win us matches. I don’t want to put pressure on him, but I truly believe he has the skill to do what I used to – to be the finisher who delivers at No.5 or 6,” Yuvraj mentioned while talking to The Telegraph.
Yuvraj Singh also gave some advice to the young Indian batter Shubman Gill going through a rough patch both in white and red ball cricket. He just scored 74 runs in four innings in the Test series against South Africa. Yuvraj advised the 24-year-old to exert more effort in the longest format of the game.
Yuvraj Singh said,”Shubman needs to work harder in Test cricket. If you want to be the best in the world, you have to conquer all formats.
