“He is the next MS Dhoni…”Michael Vaughan Predicted This Player Will Become The Next MS Dhoni

England won the T20 World Cup 2022 under the captaincy of Jos Buttler. He was praised by the world cricket fraternity for his outstanding decision on the field during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Earlier, this year Eoin Morgan announced his retirement from limited overs cricket under the captaincy of Jos Buttler. Buttler’s earlier performance as the skipper wasn’t so impressive but after winning the title of the T20 World Cup he shut down many critic’s mouths. Now England cricket team management shouldn’t worry about the skipper of the English team in white ball cricket.

Jos Buttler has shown his authority as the new boss of England cricket and he has already filled the big of shoes of ex-captain Eoin Morgan. Looking at his success former English cricketer Michael Vaughan drew a comparison of him with Indian legendary skipper MS Dhoni. The former Indian wicketkeeper captain is the only captain, who has won T20 World Cup 2007, ODI World Cup 2011, and the Champions trophy 2013.

Dhoni was known as Captain cool and captained the team Indian over 8 years which is a big achievement for any cricket player. Michael Vaughan shared his thoughts on his daily telegraph and believe that Jos can also do this for the English team.
“Now Jos Buttler has landed the World Cup at the first time of asking and at the age of 32 he has the chance to build his own legacy. MS Dhoni went on for years as India’s captain. Buttler can do the same, especially now he is concentrating on one format. There is still there too. You can see it in Buttler’s eyes,” Michael wrote.

Further, he stated that Dhoni first important assignment as the skipper was T20 World Cup and then the ODI World Cup, in which he conquered both ICC titles, now Jos has completed his first ICC title and next he will do the same as Dhoni.

Michael also told about the team which will be effective in the ODI World Cup 2023 in India, and also shared that covering all departments will be necessary on Indian soil.

“When you have a left-arm seamer, pace, swing and spin, and three spinners you have everything covered as a captain. That for me is the benchmark for white-ball cricket – you have to have options. From 1-11 they have match winners,” he further added.
