He Is The Next Kieron Pollard Of Mumbai Indians, Ambati Rayudu Huge Praise For This MI All-rounder

Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu praised Romario Shepherd for his exceptional display with both bat and ball during the match against the Delhi Capitals (DC). Rayudu likened Shepherd’s performance to that of the legendary Kieron Pollard after Mumbai Indians secured the first victory of the season.

Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians claimed a 29-run win against the Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, April 7. This victory marked the first win for the Mumbai-based team in the tournament. Romario Shepherd was awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.

Rohit Sharma (49 runs off 27 balls) and Ishan Kishan (42 runs off 23 balls) began their innings with a strong start and they gathered 80 runs in seven overs. However, Rohit missed out on reaching a half-century and was dismissed by Axar Patel.

In a chat on Star Sports, Ambati Rayudu praised Romario Shepherd for his impressive performance and compared his batting style to that of Kieron Pollard.

“Yeah, I think so. Because definitely, MI misses Pollard a lot. I think Romario Shepherd is filling in his shoes and the way he has been hitting the ball. And, you know, it reminds me of Pollard all those years back when the match was done. He used to come out there and win the game for you. Romario is doing the same thing,” Rayudu said.
