Nathan Lyon has emerged as one of the biggest match-winners in the history of cricket.
Recently, Lyon produced a magical spell against New Zealand, helping Australia defeat the host by a huge margin of 172 runs in the first test of the ongoing test series.
Speaking of Nathan Lyon England’s young spinner, Tom Hartley, said that getting time to spend with Nathan Lyon is important as both men are set to feature for Lancashire during the County Cricket Championship.
Hartley said that Lyon is someone whom he tries to replicate, and he also went on to praise Offspinner, which operates on flat pitches in Australia.
Hartley said, “He’s someone I want to try to replicate. To be an international cricketer, you have to be able to perform in different conditions, and Nathan is a guy that can really help me. I hope he’s going to be fantastic for me and be a real game-changer. The type of bowler he is is something I’m trying to work on. The way he operates in Australia on pretty flat wickets, there are times when English wickets are pretty similar. He’s going to be great to learn from.”
Hartley is currently one of the most successful young players for England. The young spinner recently picked up 20 wickets in the ongoing series against India.
India and England are set to face one another on March 7 for the final test match, which is scheduled to be played in Dharamshala.
