The young Indian left-handed batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has already left a great impression in the minds of Indian fans and former cricketers. After a remarkable performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Jaiswal has earned a place in the national team. In a total of 15 matches played for India across various formats, he has accumulated an impressive tally of 636 runs.
Meanwhile, the former Indian cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar has come forward to give a huge round of applause for the talented batter. He said that he could be an unbeatable talent for Team India in the future.
While having a conversation with Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “Yashasvi Jaiswal is a very good talent and brings the left-handed factor as well. He’s got the boldness of youth and freshness of not being tied down by ideas of how one should play.”
Gavaskar expressed that Jaiswal has the potential to become an all-format player for the Indian team in the future. Although the 21-year-old has already made his debut in two formats, he is yet to feature in an ODI game.
“Just see the ball and hit the ball; this is what he does, and he does it so well. He’s got a century in Test cricket as well. So he is a good all-format prospect for India,” Gavaskar said.
At present, Team India is in South Africa for a month-long tour, engaged in a series against the Proteas. This tour will consist of a series of three T20Is, three ODIs, and two Test matches between both teams.
