On Tuesday, former BCCI president and former India captain Sourav Ganguly named Suryakumar Yadav as the best T20 player in the world after Mumbai’s match-winning innings against RCB.
Mumbai Indians have registered their sixth win in IPL 2023 by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets. In this match, RCB scored 199 runs while batting first. In response, Mumbai scored 200 runs in 16.3 overs and won the match by six wickets. Ishan Kishan’s 42 runs for Mumbai, Suryakumar Yadav’s 83 and Nehal Wadhera’s 52-run innings gave Mumbai the victory. With the victory in this match, the Mumbai team has moved to the third position in the points table.
Suryakumar had a slow start in IPL 2023 but has been a top performer in the last few matches. The 32-year-old has scored three fifties in the last five matches, with five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians chasing big targets. In 11 matches, MI batsman Suryakimar has scored 376 runs at an average of 34.18 and an impressive strike rate of 186.14.
On Tuesday, Suryakumar once again showed his stardom against RCB. Surya came on the field after losing the wickets of both Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan in the same over. Suryakumar played a match-winning knock with Nehal Wadhera and scored his highest IPL score of 83 runs in just 35 balls. Surya is getting huge praise for his innings, but Ganguly is the latest addition to the list.
On Twitter, the former BCCI president wrote that Suryakumar is the best T20 player in the world.
“Surya Kumar Yadav the best T20 player in the world .. it seems he bats on a computer.” Sourav Ganguly tweeted.
After the match against RCB, Suryakumar said that he tried to stick to his plans and did not bring much change in his game. Suryakumar said, “Your practice should be what you want to do in the matches. I know where my runs are. We have open net sessions. I know my game. I don’t do anything different.”
