The first Test between West Indies and India will be played from July 12 at Windsor Park, Dominica. For this, former Indian star off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has picked his favorable Indian playing XI.
He has picked his XI while talking to his official Youtube Channel. Harbhajan has said that Shubman Gill should be the permanent opener with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal should be placed at number three.
Bhajji said, “According to me, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill should open and Yashasvi Jaiswal should play at No. 3. A lot of people were saying that Yashasvi should be made to open and Shubman should be played down the order – I don’t think so because Shubman has made it his own place.”
In Harbhajan’s list, no.4 has been occupied by Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane is at fifth position.
“He (Gill) has got that position based on his performance. So his position should not be touched. I will play Yashasvi at No. 3. I hope he makes his debut and scores a lot of runs. He is a very good player. After that, Virat Kohli will play at No. 4 and Ajinkya Rahane will play at No. 5.”
For an all-arounder, he has picked Ravindra Jadeja at number six. He was asked to choose between R Ashwin and KS Bharat at number seven. He said if Ashwin bats at number seven then Bharat should be pushed to number 8.
For the fast bowling option, Harbhajan Singh has got Jaydev Unadkat, Mohammed Siraj, and Mukesh Kumar.
