Gilchrist’s Remarks on MI Captain’s Health Stir Controversy

Former Australian great Adam Gilchrist raises questions over Hardik Pandya’s fitness after his final overs, in which he gave away twenty runs and was hit by Ms. Dhoni for three conspicuous sixes.
Hardik Pandya faced a lot of heat because of his bowling, with former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar labeling his captaincy as ordinary and also raising questions on the type of deliveries he chose to ball in the final over.

On speaking about Hardik Pandya, Gilchrist termed the all-rounder “propy” saying that the all-rounder looked completely out of rhythm in bowling. Gilchrist further added that Hardik Pandya’s bowling lacked sharpness and consistency because he is not 100% fit.

In his interaction with Cricbuzz, Adam Gilchrist said, “The only positive about Hardik Pandya and his bowling was that he was prepared to take on the challenge. I am captain; I am going to have a crack, but then he looks “proppy”. As we use in Australian sporting terms, you are not quite fluent. He does not look anywhere near 100 percent fit with the ball in hand, and if there is any doubt about his physicality, His bowling was scattered.”

Mumbai Indians were spot on with their bowling before the arrival of Ms. Dhoni on the crease, who hit Hardik Pandya for 20 runs facing just 4 deliveries, which included three conspicuous sixes, which in the end turned out to be the difference between the two sides.
