The bond between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli on the field has been a topic of conversation. While leading Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2023 IPL season, they had conflicts. However, in the latest edition, with Gambhir as Kolkata Knight Riders mentor, it appears they have reconciled as they shared a hug which reflected that all the past tensions had been resolved.
On the night of the IPL final, Kolkata Knight Riders performed brilliantly and thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets. They outplayed the Pat Cummins and team in all the three departments and did not let opposition make a comeback. After the triumph, Gambhir emerged as a frontrunner for the Indian men’s cricket team’s head coach job and probably he is going to replace Rahul Dravid for the designation.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Gautam Gambhir revealed his relationship with Virat Kohli.
The KKR mentor said,”The perception is far away from the reality. My relation with Virat Kohli is something this country doesn’t need to know. He has as much right as I do to express himself and help our respective teams win. Our relation is not to give masala to public.”
Earlier Kohli also gave opinion on his hug to Gautam Gambhir. “People are very disappointed with my behaviour. I hugged Naveen, and then the other day, Gauti bhai (Gautam Gambhir) came and hugged me. Your masala is over so you’re booing. We’re not kids anymore.”
