Gautam Gambhir Lauded Virat Kohli, Says – ‘Scoring 25000 Runs Is Not…’

Virat Kohli is finally performing good with his bad and despite having a rough patch for a couple of years, the batter is finally back in his original form. In the second Test against Australia, Kohli scored 44 and 20 in the two innings. In the first inning, Kohli was looking exceptional with the bat but a controversial decision forced him to give his wicket away.

However, former cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar and Gautam Gambhir have praised Virat Kohli for his performance and believe Kohli will deliver a big score very soon. Kohli has scored a century last year against Afghanistan in limited-over cricket but he is yet to make it in the longest format of the game.

On day 3 of game of the Delhi Test, Kohli achieved a huge milestone where he became the fastest batter to score 25000 runs in Internal Cricket. Kohli has done this feat in 549 innings, while this record previously existed on the name of Sachin Tendulkar which he did in 577 innings.

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir has lauded Virat Kohli for his remarkable achievement while talking to star sports.

The former Indian opener said,“I don’t know about the list but the best part of Virat Kohli is that he has performed the same in India and in Australia, in South Africa. There will be an Australian (sic) or a South African in the list but you have to compare their numbers in the subcontinent as well. Kohli is a master of the 50-overs format but in Test cricket too he has scored 27 hundreds and 28 fifties. He has centuries in England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies. What more can you achieve?”

The former KKR captain further added,”Scoring 25 thousand runs is no joke. He has seen a lot of ups and downs but has remained consistent. Your game goes through a lot of changes. Your stance changes, your technique changes, your strengths and weaknesses change, your mode of dismissals become different, your emotions change and if you can factor in all of that, control all these things and score these many runs then you are a great.”
