Full Equation For The Third Team Of The Play-Offs In WPL After Mumbai And Delhi

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) league matches are about to end. Three teams have two matches each, and two have one match each. Only three out of five teams will go to the playoffs. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have cemented their places. Now there are three contenders for one place. UP Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants still have a chance.

As per the rules of the tournament, the team at the top will have a huge advantage. She will directly reach the finals. At the same time, an eliminator match will be played between the second and third-placed teams. The winning team of the eliminator match will play against the top-ranked team in the final.

This team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, has reached the playoffs. They have 10 points with five wins from six matches. They are two points ahead of the second-placed Delhi Capitals. Delhi has eight points from as many matches. If Mumbai wins both matches, then they will have 14 points. And if Delhi wins both, they will have 12 points.

The UP Warriors team, captained by Alyssa Healy, is yet to play two matches. They have six points from six matches with three wins. The team will reach the playoffs if it wins even one of the remaining two matches. There is a direct equation in front of them, and they must defeat either Gujarat Giants or Delhi Capitals.

After the defeat in the first five matches, the RCB team made a comeback. Smriti Mandhana’s RCB won both the last matches. They have four points in seven matches. RCB has to play only one match now. If they want to reach the next round, they will have to win against Mumbai Indians. After the win over Mumbai, they will have six points. In such a situation, they will reach at par with UP-W. RCB must also pray that the UP Warriorz team loses in both matches. With this, they can move ahead with a better net run rate.

The Gujarat Giants team has four points from seven matches with two wins. They also have the same equation as Royal Challengers Bangalore. They have to win against UP Warriors in their last match. Apart from this, they will also have to pray that the UP team loses against Delhi Capitals. Whereas Mumbai should beat RCB.
