In the second qualifier between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans on 26th May played at Narendra Modi Stadium, GT beat Mumbai Indians by a huge margin of 62 runs.
The star batter of Gujarat Titans Shubman Gill scored his third century of the season. Against Mumbai Indians, he got 129 runs in 60 balls which includes 7 fours and 10 sixes.
After this superb knock which helped Gujarat to enter into the final of IPL 2022 for two back to years, the captain of GT Hardik Pandya gives a huge applause for Gill. Last year when Gill played for GT he got 483 runs but this year he has already scored more than 800 runs with one match to go. Not only runs, but his strike rate(156) has been very sensational.
Talking about the improvement in batting of Gill, captain Pandya said that this year Gill has clarity with his batting approach and his mindset has been very positive.
“I think the clarity he [Shubman Gill] carried, he is in a great place when it comes to the mindset. This has to be one of the best knocks I have seen in a while. He never looked in rush, he was always in control and it felt like the balls were thrown at him and he was striking them. I mean whoof!! He is a superstar and is going to do great things for both the franchise and the country,” Hardik Pandya said.
This is second consecutive final for Gujarat Titans. The team first appeared in the tournament in IPL 2022 and lifted the title in the captaincy of Hardik Pandya beating Rajasthan Royals. This time Hardik Pandya’s side will face Chennai Super Kings in the final on 28th May.
Talking about the decider, Pandya said,”I mean we will give our best. Irrelevant of the result, if we put our hundred percent and give our best, things are going to be fun. I mean knockouts are a fun game. It can go here and can go there, I mean, it is going to be fun with the boys.”
