In the last league match of IPl 2023, Gujarat Titans beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets at Chinnaswamy. With this defeat, RCB was officially ruled out from the race of playoffs. The main highlight of this match was two hundred which came from both the teams. When RCB was batting in the first inning, Kohli got a superb hundred while chasing the target of 198 runs and on the other hand, Shubman Gill scored 104*.
After this heroic effort, Gill got much appreciation from all the former players and the veteran Sourav Ganguly was one of them. The ex-president of BCCI come to his official Twitter handle and praised Gill after his impressive inning. After this tweet, many users started bashing Ganguly as Gill was not the only one to hit a century as Kohli also got the ton. The tweet also indicated some praise for the Australian all-rounder Cameron Green but not for the RCB star Kohli.
“What talent this country produces .. Shubman Gill.. wow .. two stunning knocks in two halves .. IPL.. .. what standards in the tournament,” Ganguly tweeted.
In this match, while batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore got some early dismissals but it was Virat Kohli who batted with all his skills and scored a hundred. The omission of Virat Kohli from the list of appreciation made the fan furious and they replied to Ganguly on his designated post.
In a match between RCB and Delhi Capitals, when the match got over, both Ganguly and Kohli avoided the handshake from each other. This created a lot of buzz among the fans and they interpreted it as a rift between these two legends.
