‘Fit’ Deepak Chahar Likely To Miss The T20 And ODI Series Against Australia, Here Is The Biggest Reason

There is a piece of disappointing news coming from the Indian dressing room before the upcoming South Africa Tour. Star Indian pacer, Deepak Chahar who made his comeback to both the ODI and T20I sides is now in doubt about the series against Proteas.

The reports say that Deepak Chahar’s father Lokendra Singh Chahar is not feeling well and the bowler will only travel with the team once his condition improves.

Chahar was missing from the lineup in the recently concluded T20I series against Australia. The match held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, presented an opportunity for India to conclude the series on a high note, having already secured a 3-1 lead.

However, the stand-in captain for the T20 series against Australia, Suryakumar Yadav informed that Chahar had to leave the squad in an emergency. Later, it was known that his father had been taken to the hospital in a critical condition.

In an interview with Sports Tak, Chahar mentioned that his father’s health is currently improving and clarified the reason for his absence in the 5th T20I against the Aussies. The pacer revealed that he had informed coach Rahul Dravid and the selectors about his decision to stay back until his father gets fully fit.

“We got him to the hospital on time. Else, it could have been dangerous. His condition is better at the moment. People were asking, why I didn’t play the final T20I against Australia. For me, my father is very important. He made me the player I am. I cannot leave him in this condition and couldn’t go anywhere.”

Right now, my father’s condition is better. When asked if he had a date planned for joining the team, Chahar said it would depend on his father’s health and right now, he can’t leave him and go.
