First Victory For Indian Maharajas In Legend League Against Aisa Lions

Legend League Cricket Series is going on in Doha, and three teams are participating in this league. India Maharajas and Asia Lions faced each other in the Legends League Cricket Series match played at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on March 14. India Maharaja got a one-sided victory in this match by defeating the Asia Lions by 10 wickets.

Earlier in the match, India Maharajas had decided to bowl after winning the toss. Asia Lions, captained by Misbah-ul-Haq, who came to bat first, scored 157 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Upul Tharanga scored a maximum of 69 runs off 48 balls with the help of 7 fours and two sixes; apart from him, Tillakaratne Dilshan played an important inning of 32 runs off 27 balls. Whereas Stuart Binny, Yusuf Pathan, and Praveen Tambe took 1-1 wickets from the India Maharaja team.

Chasing a target of 158 runs, openers Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir did wonders for India Maharajas. Robin faced 39 balls and played a stormy inning of 88 runs with the help of 11 fours and 5 sixes. During this, his strike rate was 225.64; along with him, skipper Gautam Gambhir played a fiery inning of 61 runs in 36 balls, including 12 fours. Both these openers single-handedly contributed significantly to the team achieving the target and winning the match by 10 wickets.

Today, Gautam Gambhir’s Indian Maharajas will face Aron Finch’s World Giants in the 5th match of Legend League Cricket.
