“Faf du Plessis is a cheat….” Faf du Plessis Revelead How Australian Media Reacted To His Ball-Tampering Incident

The next edition of the Indian Premier League will be played from 25th March, and before this, every franchise has been setting their essential player in the right place to take more advantages.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore is running a podcast in which they are interviewing their best players. Speaking on that podcast, former South African skipper and current RCB skipper Faf du Plessis revealed some crucial aspects of his life he faced in his cricketing career on and outside the field.

Recently, he launched his autobiography “Through Fire”. In this, Plessis explained the multiple aspects of life and also explained that incident in which he was accused of ball tampering and media houses stated him as a cheat.

Now, he talked about the incident and also the bad times. He explained that Australian media ripped into me and labelled me a cheat. And just before the third test match, the whole media and paper were full of headlines that “Faf is a cheat”.

“Media ripped into me. The Australian media can be very aggressive. They labelled me as a cheat. Before the third Test, every newspaper said, ‘Faf du Plessis is a cheat’. They were posting everything that could be bad. I worked out at Adelaide for the first pink ball Test, and more than fifty thousand people were booing me. It was loud as it can get.” Faf on the RCB podcast.

Faf further added that he told himself that he was born for cricket. But when he scored a century in that match, half stadium clapped, and half booed me. That ignited a fire in me; no one could get me from it.

“I told myself this is what I was born for, and cricket is my character. Then I went on to get a hundred in that Test match. Even when I got to my fifty, the entire stadium booed me. Only when I got to my hundred did half of the stadium clap and half boo me. It was more than a split room. But it also ignited a fire in me. I knew that no one could get me out today.” RCB skipper concluded on RCB Podcast.
