Team India’s performance in the WTC final, Asia Cup, and T20 World Cup last year was highly affected by the absence of their star fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah. However, there is positive news for Indians Cricket fans. Bumrah is expected to make a much needed comeback well ahead of the ODI World Cup which is scheduled to commence in October in India.
The star pacer is out from the team since last year due to his persistent back injury. However, Bumrah tried to make a comeback to the team during the home series against Australia but it did not go well for the pacer and his injury got elated. After that, Bumrah missed the Border-Gavaskar trophy and then the Indian Premier League 2023 for Mumbai Indians.
According to a reliable source from news18, Jasprit Bumrah is set to feature for team India once again. It is being reported that the pacer will make his comeback from the Ireland series where team India will visit the nation for a three-match T20I series in August 2023.
With this series, Bumrah will look at his fitness and examine himself if he is ready to move in for the ODI World Cup or not.
An official source talked to News18 and said,”“Jasprit Bumrah is looking very good for the Ireland series in August this year. It will be a big boost to the Indian cricket team and will also allow Bumrah time in the middle after the long injury lay-off. If everything stays on course, a Bumrah at peak fitness is likely to take field.”
The Mumbai Indians pacer has been in rehabilitation under the surveillance of National Cricket Academy (NCA) head VVS Laxman and Nitin Patel who is Head Sports Science and Medicine department of NCA. This team also have S Rajnikanth as his member who helped players like Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya to recover from their respective injuries.
