Ex-India Manager Slams Rahul Dravid & Rohit Sharma, Named 3 Players As The Replacement Of KL Rahul

The reports are suggesting Shubman Gill replace KL Rahul in the third Test of the four-match Test series which will be played in Indore. KL Rahul has been removed from the vice-captaincy but there is still no clue regarding the playing XI of the upcoming match.

The captain of team India Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid both backed KL Rahul and they highlighted the overseas stats of the wicketkeeper batter. If we look at the stats, KL Rahul has centuries in Australia, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies. He is the only Test opener after Virender Sehwag to achieve this milestone.

Former Indian Tamilanadu player Sunil Subramanian who was once a India’s manager during the reign of Ravi Shastri has his diffrent say on KL Rahul. Subramanian said that five years ago it was a different situation and Rahul needed a backing but now the management need to find his replacement.

While speaking to Times Of India,”You should realize that Rahul, at that stage, was a youngster…but now it’s significantly different.”

Subramanian counted some names and said that they have players like Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill and Mayank Agrawal.

“There are players like Shubhman who are just not knocking, but banging on the door. And then there’s Prithvi Shaw as well. How long can you ignore legitimate claims?” he asked.

The third Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy will be played from March 1 at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore.
