“Everyone wants to make…”Rohit Sharma excited for the super 8 challenge in Carabian

Indian team leader Rohit Sharma is very eager for the Super 8 rounds in the T20 World Cup 2024. Before the first game against Afghanistan, Sharma mentioned that the Indian squad aims to achieve something remarkable in the upcoming part of the competition. In a video shared by BCCI, the Indian captain explained that all members of the Indian team are looking to have a significant impact on the tournament.

India hasn’t lost any games in the tournament’s group stage. They beat Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA in all three matches. Their last group-stage game against Canada was cancelled because of rain.

Rohit Sharma said in a video shared by the BCCI, “The team is really eager to do something amazing. It’s clear that everyone wants to make a difference, and we take our practice sessions very seriously. We have goals for every practice session. After our first game, we’ll play the next two in just 3-4 days. It’ll be a bit busy, but we’re used to it. We travel and play a lot, so we won’t use that as an excuse.”

India reached Barbados a few days before their first Super 8s game. They took a short break at the island’s beaches and then returned to their practice routine. Sharma mentioned in the video that the players were aware of what was required since they had experienced these conditions before.

“Our focus will be on our skills and team strategy. We’ve played many matches here. Each player knows their role. Everyone is eager and also feeling excited,” Rohit concluded.

India will start their games on June 20, playing against Afghanistan in Barbados. After that, they will go to Antigua to play against Bangladesh on June 22. They will finish the Super 8 stage with a big game against Australia in St Lucia on June 24. All of India’s games will begin at 8 PM IST.

20 June: Afghanistan v India, Bridgetown, Barbados (8 PM IST)

22 June: India v Bangladesh, North Sound, Antigua (8 PM IST)

24 June: Australia v India, Gros Islet, St Lucia (8 PM IST)
