Dinesh Karthik To Play Against ‘India A’, Here Is The Full Detail For England Vs India Game

Veteran Indian wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik is set to join the coaching staff as a batting consultant for the England Lions during the initial nine days of their tour to India. The tour spans from January 10th to January 18th.

The tour is scheduled to kick off with a two-day warm-up match starting on January 12 at the Narendra Modi Stadium Ground ‘B’ in Ahmedabad. After that, the first four-day match will begin on January 17 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Mo Bobat, who is England’s performance director is very happy to get Dinesh Karthik on board. He said, “It’s fantastic to have Dinesh Karthik with us for a part of our prep period and leading into the first Test. I’m sure the lads will love spending time with him and benefiting from his experience of what it takes to be successful at Test level in India.”

The 38-year-old has been affiliated with Sky Sports and contributed as part of the commentary team for events such as the World Test Championship final and the Ashes held in England in 2023.

On January 18th, former England cricketer Ian Bell is set to take over Dinesh Karthik’s role as a batting consultant. Alongside Bell, Graeme Swann will be part of the coaching staff as a mentor, remaining with the team for the entirety of the tour.
