He has recently garnered praise from the former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is making a comeback to the commentary box. In a recent match, Sidhu claimed Kohli as the finest Indian batsman of all time.
The former Indian batter Navjot Singh Sidhu praised Kohli for his remarkable fitness and technical prowess, enduring career, and ability to adapt across all three cricket formats before ranking him at the pinnacle.
While having a conversation with India Today, Sidhu said, “I have rated him as the greatest Indian batter ever. There was a time when I used to listen to Sunil Gavaskar’s batting against the West Indies. He dominated international cricket for 15-20 years. We then saw Sachin Tendulkar leading the batting charts in Test cricket and one-day internationals. MS Dhoni also had his time and won several matches for India. Virat Kohli came into the picture and scripted new records across formats. I believe Virat is the greatest among the four batters as he adapted to all three formats.”
The commentator further added, “Virat Kohli is the fittest and is technically very sound. Sachin faced fitness issues. Dhoni was fit but Kohli is super fit. It takes him above the other three names. He has been serving Indian cricket for a long time across formats. The adaptability factor also works in Virat’s favor.”
