Team India’s former opener, Wasim Jafar, believes that the Rajasthan Royals made a bold decision by allowing Riyan Parag to bat at number 4 for the franchise.
Riyan Parag was the major reason behind Rajasthan’s second victory of the season against the Delhi Capitals and was awarded Man of the Match for his performance.
Riyan Parag scored 84* out of just 45 deliveries, which helped him earn praise from one of the best openers in Indian cricket, Wasim Jafar.
Speaking about Riyan Parag, Jaffar said, “This number suits him more than anything. It gives him time, as he is used to batting at this number. He bats at No. 4 for Assam, gets lots of opportunities, and has time to build his innings. So, I feel Rajasthan has found the right spot.”
Jaffar further added, “He looks very determined; he looks much fitter compared to last season. And I am happy for him because he got a lot of flak for the last 2 to 3 seasons.”
Riyan Parag had a phenomenal start to this year’s IPL, as the batter has scored 127 runs from the last two matches at a strike rate of 171.63.
