Delhi Capitals Captain Rishabh Pant Penalized for IPL Code of Conduct Breach

Even after Delhi’s first victory of the IPL season 2024 against CSK by 20 runs, Delhi’s skipper Rishabh Pant got reprimanded for maintaining a slow overrate against CSK in the match.

An official announcement was being made on the same day that Rishabh Pant has been fined Rs 12 lakh as a penalty for maintaining a slow overrate against CSK in the match.

The statement said, “Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, on March 31,” said a statement from the IPL.
The statement further added,As it was his team’s first offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offenses, Pant was fined Rs 12 lakhs.” 

Delhi won the toss and elected to bat first. The openers, Prithvi Shaw (43) and David Warner (52) got the team off to a fine start.

Later on, Rishabh Pant (51) scored his first half century of the season, helping his team post a combined score of 191.
For CSK, it was Pathirana who had a wonderful day at the office with the ball, and the pacer ended with figures of (3/31).
