Asian Games is all set to start on July 15 and for the same, the former Indian opener and now renowned commentator Aakash Chopra has picked his tentative bowling unit. Chopra feels that the players who will be picked in the squad for the Asian Games, are unlikely to be there for the ODI World Cup happening in India.
Chopra has picked Deepak Chahar as one of his fast bowlers for the upcoming event. While talking on his Youtube Channel, Chopra said, “They are not even discussing Deepak Chahar when the team was selected for the West Indies tour. But he should get fit, I feel he should be fit now also. So Deepak Chahar is on my side.”
While choosing the second option, Aakash Chopra has got the young pace sensation of India, Umran Malik who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL.
“I feel Umran Malik should be kept in the team. I am doubtful Umran Malik will be in the World Cup squad. So Umran Malik will be on my team. A bowler who bowls at 150 kph, you have to respect him and keep him in your team.”
While picking the other two seamers, the former opener has named Khaleel Ahmed and Yash Thakur. He said that Khaleel would provide variety to the side. He also showed his wish to pick Mohit Sharma if having five full seamers is allowed. Talking about the spin options, Ravi Bishnoi and Varun Chakravarthy are the two candidates picked by Aakash Chopra.
