Decoding Brad Hogg’s Choice: Dhruv Jurel or Rishabh Pant For Test Wicketkeeper

Former Australian great Brad Hogg feels that India should continue to play Dhruv Jurel as the wicketkeeper-batsman in test cricket. Hogg feels that Rishabh Pant should not be rushed to play test matches for India immediately and play some domestic cricket for a better comeback.

Jurel has emerged as one of the brightest prospects of Indian cricket in the ongoing series against England; on the other hand, Rishabh Pant is on the road to recovery for a comeback in cricket.

On his YouTube channel, Brad Hogg said, “I think they will keep with Jurel and not go back to Pant quickly. I think they will make him go and play some first-class cricket in the longest format so that they can make sure his body can withstand it and make sure, from a batting perspective, he still has the ability that he had before the accident.”

Ks Bharat’s inability to perform for India in the longest format of the game even after getting chances paved the way for Dhruv Jurel to make his international debut for Team India.

The young wicketkeeper batsman immediately left the mark by scoring 46 in his debut test inning.

However, Jurel showed his determination and maturity when he, along with Ashwin, bailed India out of trouble as the batter scored a powerful 90.

On the other hand, Rishabh Pant will be making a comeback in the upcoming IPL season as the captain of the Delhi Capitals, who are set to play their opening match on March 23 against the Punjab Kings.
