Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders are facing each other in the 16th match of the IPL 2024 and in this match, KKR has got another promising youngster, with batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi who hit a fifty in just 25 balls against Delhi Capitals at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.
Raghuvanshi hit four fours and three sixes to reach his first-ever fifty in the IPL. He came to bat after the dismissal of Phil Salt against Anrich Nortje, who was caught by his fellow countryman Tristan Stubbs in the fifth over of the game.
Raghuvanshi and Sunil Narine created trouble for the DC bowlers, building a powerful 104-run partnership in eight overs. They continued to score at a rate of 13 runs per over even after the powerplays.
Who is Angkrish Raghuvanshi?
Raghuvanshi is part of Mumbai’s squad in Indian domestic cricket. Apart from showcasing his aggressive right-handed batting skills, he also specializes in bowling slow left-arm orthodox spin.
Raghuvanshi made his debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy in October of the previous year. In total, he has participated in eight T20 matches, accumulating 138 runs at an average of 23, with a strike rate of 115.96. His performance includes 11 boundaries and six maximums, showcasing his remarkable ability to strike the ball effectively.
The 18-year-old has participated in five List A matches as well, amassing a total of 133 runs at an average of 26.60 and a strike rate of 98.50. He has recorded one fifty in his innings, which included 16 boundaries and three maximums. In addition to his batting contributions, he has also taken eight catches in limited-overs cricket overall.
