For Delhi Capitals, the 2024 auction was quite exciting as they went hard for the acquisition of young Jharkhand batter Kumar Kushagra for a good sum of Rs 7.20 crore. CSK swiftly initiated the bidding for Kumar Kushagra, who had a base price of 20 lakh. However, Capitals eventually secured his services by winning the bid at an amount of Rs 7.2 crore. This competitive bidding process reflects the potential of Jharkhan’s batter.
In addition to Kumar Kushagra, DC made a major addition to their squad during the IPL 2024 auction. They secured the services of Australia pacer Jhye Richardson for Rs 5 crore and England batter Harry Brook for Rs 4 crore. Brook had an average IPL 2023 with the bat. Then, SRH got him for Rs 13.25 crore.
DC also bought West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope at his base price of Rs 75 lakh. The skipper of the side, David Warner was also present in the auction along with the head coach Ricky Ponting and mentor Sourav Ganguly.
