David Warner Blocked By The SRH Franchise On Social Media Handles, Opener Shares Surprising Screenshots

As the IPL 2024 auction progressed, franchises made their all efforts to secure the services of top players for the upcoming 17th edition of the Indian Premier League. One notable transaction during the event was the acquisition of Australian batsman Travis Head by Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH got the Australian opener for INR 6.8 Crore.

The World Cup champion batter was purchased by Hyderabad and the news garnered widespread attention globally. In response to it, the former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner shared a post on Instagram. Surprisingly, he disclosed that he has been blocked by SRH on both X (formerly known as Twitter) and Instagram.

Warner shared the image on his Instagram story, tagging Travis Head in the post after he joined the Hyderabad-based franchise.

It is known to everyone that veteran opener Warner has a significant history with Sunrisers Hyderabad. The star batsman faced a turning point in his association with the franchise during the IPL 2021 when he was stripped of his captaincy midway through the season. After that, he was also excluded from the franchise.

After being excluded from the batting lineup, he was excluded from the playing XI, and Kane Williamson was appointed as the new captain.

A few years ago Warner had a conversation with Sports Today where he described how he was dropped the captaincy and then from the franchise without any information.

“I am not 100 percent sure how to answer that. With the utmost respect for the owners, Trevor Baylis, Laxman, Moody, and Murali, when a decision gets made, it has to be a unanimous one. You don’t know who the person is going for you and who isn’t,” Warner told Sports Today in 2021.
