The 29th match of IPL 2023 was played at Chepauk on Friday. Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets in the match. Jadeja bowled the best, while Devon Conway scored an unbeaten half-century. After the defeat, the Hyderabad captain looked unhappy with the team’s performance.
After the match ended, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Aiden Markram said, “It is never good to lose. We could not build a partnership. The score of 130 was not worth defending. However, if the score of 160 were made, we would challenge Chennai.”
On CSK’s performance, he said, “We knew CSK spinners would play a big role in the match. Everyone had the plan to counter them. You could either play big shots on them or rotate the strike and build partnerships. We had plans, but unfortunately we fell short. We need to review that how we can improve with the bat. Excellent effort from our bowlers.”
In the match played on Friday, none of the Hyderabad batters was successful in playing big innings. Abhishek Sharma scored a maximum of 34 runs. With this defeat, Sunrisers Hyderabad is in 9th position in the points table with 4 points from 6 matches. Hyderabad has won two out of 6 matches and has lost four. Hyderabad must perform well in the remaining matches to reach the playoffs.
