CSK vs LSG, IPL 2023: Dhonis cameo, Gaikwad Fifty, and Moeen Ali bowling Helped CSK For a 12-run Win

In the 6th match of Indian Premier League 2023, Chennai Super Kings beat Lucknow Super Giants by 12 runs at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk. It is the first win of Chennai this season after losing the first game against Gujarat Titans.

The Lucknow Super Giants captain chose to bowl first after winning the toss against the Chennai Super Kings led by MS Dhoni. However, LSG failed to chase the target of 218 runs, which was a huge one. The decision of KL Rahul to invite CSK for batting first went wrong.

CSK began their innings with a flying start by batting first, thanks to the impressive batting of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway. They set a solid foundation and had a partnership of 110 runs for the first wicket. After the departure of Gaikwad and Conway, CSK batter slowed a bit. However, in the end, the late cameos from, Shivam Dube, Rayudu, and Dhoni helped CSK to reach a total of 217/7 in 20 overs.

Lucknow Super Giants brilliantly began their chase with KL Rahul and Kayel Mayers coming with an aggressive approach. Mayers smashed a half-century off just 21 balls which gave LSG a good chance to chase down the target. However, the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals, which eventually led to their downfall. After all 20 overs, LSG reached 205 runs at the loss of seven wickets.

Moeen Ali looked terrific with the ball at Chepauk and he picked four crucial wickets and turned the game for Chennai. The impact player for Chennai Super Kings, Tushar Deshpande also managed to get 2 wickets.

For scoring 19 runs and picking up four wickets, Moeen Ali was picked as Man Of The Match.
