“Could be my final match….”Dinesh Karthik’s Retirement Hints Spark Speculations in the IPL

RCB’s wicketkeeper batter, Dinesh Kartik, has once again dropped hints about his IPL retirement. In the opening match between CSK and RCB, Kartik feels that this could be his last match at Chepauk.

Dinesh Kartik has been part of the IPL since its inaugural season and has played for as many as six IPL teams, including RCB, KKR, and GL.

Before the start of the IPL as well, there were speculations about Kartik’s retirement after the completion of this IPL season.

The star wicketkeeper was asked a question about his retirement, to which Dinesh Kartik replied, “That’s a great question. I genuinely wish it wasn’t, because a couple of matches in the playoffs could be here. If I come back for that, that could be the last. Otherwise, I think it could be.”

Karthik was seen doing commentary in the recently concluded India vs. England test series. He had to leave that series in the middle to start his preparation for the upcoming IPL season.
Karthik also spoke about the challenges he faced switching from commentry to playing cricket.

Dinesh Kartik said, “Extremely challenging. Doing a bit of commentary and practicing cricket in between Test matches and in between the time that you get has been a lot of hard work. I am happy that game 1 has gone in a positive way for me personally, and it feels good to score some runs.”

RCB will take on the Punjab Kings on March 25 in Bangalore, which will be their second game of the season.
