Complaint filed against Raina, Yuvraj and Harbhajan Singh for their Controversial reel

Former Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, and Gurkeerat Mann, are in trouble because someone said they made fun of people with disabilities. They shared a video on Instagram where they were walking funny to a popular song from a new movie called Bad Newzz.

In a video, the cricket players showed in a funny way how their bodies felt after playing in the recent World Championship of Legends tournament. Even Vicky Kaushal noticed the video and left laughing emojis in the comments.

But the video upset India’s Para-badminton player Manasi Joshi, who thought the cricketers were making fun of people with disabilities. After her reaction, Harbhajan quickly removed the video and said sorry on his Instagram story.

The dispute over this issue continues, as Arman Ali, the executive director of the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP), has filed a complaint against the cricketers at the Amar Colony police station.

In addition to the cricketers, Sandhya Devanathan, the Vice President and Managing Director of Meta India, is also included in the complaint for allegedly breaking the Information Technology Act, 2000, by permitting this content to be shared on the social media platform.

Arman Ali stated in the complaint that this video clearly breaks Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, which ensures everyone the right to live with dignity. It also violates Section 92 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and goes against the Supreme Court’s rules set in the case of Nipun Malhotra v. Sony Pictures Films India Private Limited (2004 SCC Online SC 1639).

Arman urged the officials to take strong measures against the cricket players.

“They should be punished for what they did,” Arman said to PTI.
