Cheteshwar Pujara Applauds BCCI’s New Test Cricket Incentive Scheme

Team India’s star test batter, Cheteshwar Pujara, was all praise for BCCI’s test cricket incentive scheme. Pujara said that it is an encouragement for the players who are dreaming of representing India in test match cricket.

Pujara, who was on a family trip, took to his X account to praise BCCI secretary Jay Shah for such an initiative. The Indian team’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, along with skipper Rohit Sharma, also praised BCCI for this scheme.

On his X account, Pujara wrote, “I just got back from a refreshing trip with the family, and it is even more refreshing to see such a great initiative by Jay Shah and the BCCI! It will surely reward and encourage those performing for the country in the purest format of the game.”

This initiative from BCCI is aimed at improving financial growth and giving recognition to players who represent India in test matches. The Indian player who plays more than 75% of test matches will get Rs 45 lakh as an incentive.
The players who are not part of the 11 will get 25 lakh as an incentive.

Speaking of Pujara, the veteran batter had a phenomenal success in the Ranji Trophy, as the batter ended up being the third-highest scorer of the tournament, scoring 829 runs. In 13 matches, Pujara scored a double hundred, two hundred, and two fifties, for an average of 69.08.
