Chetan Sharma Resigns From The Chief Selector’s Post, Sent Resignation Letter To Jay Shah

After all the chaos, the BCCI chief selector Chetan Sharma announced his resignation on Friday, a few days after the sting operation came to light. Sharma revealed that the players have been getting injections to recover quickly from injuries and become fit for selection in a sting operation conducted by Zee media.

A close BCCI source has said that Chetan Sharma has resigned from the post and he has sent his resignation letter to the BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

The BCCI source talked to PTI and said, “No player or selector will be comfortable sharing a cordial relationship even with well-meaning journalists after this sting as the trust factor has been compromised.”

In the sting operation, Sharma had also admitted that former skipper Kohli and former BCCI president Ganguly had an ego conflict. He added that despite being between 80% and 85% fit, many players use injections to quicken their return to professional cricket.

It is obvious that the BCCI’s top officials did not like Chetan getting caught in a sting operation. This incident may have a long-lasting impact on how the media, the Indian squad, and the selectors interact. This could mark a turning point in Indian cricket history by inaugurating a new era of transparency and accountability.
