England’s young batsman Harry Brook has scored another century in Test cricket. On the first day of the Test being played against New Zealand in Wellington, this English batter scored a blistering century. This is the fourth century of his Test career.
The special thing here is that the Wellington Test is only the sixth Test of his career. Brook has scored 807 runs in 9 innings of 6 Test matches. He has registered 4 centuries and 3 half-centuries, and his batting average has reached 100.87 in Test cricket and also has a blistering strike rate of 99.38.
In the first day of the Wellington test match, he smashed 184* runs and shattered all the bowlers of the kiwi team. With this splendid inning, Brook surpassed former Indian batter Vinod Kambli, who had scored 798 runs in nine test innings. And he also became the first batter to score more than 800 runs in just nine innings of the test match.
However, he is behind the only two cricketers who have scored more runs than him in six test matches. Former Indian batter Sunil Gavaskar (912) runs, and former Australian batter Sir Don Bradman (862) runs in just six test matches.
His most interesting fact is that his strike rate is 99.83. It means he has faced 803 balls in his test career to achieve this milestone, which is incredible.
In the auction for IPL 2023, Harry Brook was fiercely bid. Many franchisees tried to have him in their court. Sunrisers Hyderabad made this explosive batsman a part of their squad by paying the highest price. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Harry Brook for 13.25 crores.
