Celebrating Excellence: Babar Azam’s Feat of Scoring 3000 Runs and Approaching 10,000 in T20 Cricket

One of the stars of world cricket and former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam made history as he became the first batsman to cross the 3000 run mark in the Pakistan Super League.

Babar Azam needed 65 more runs to reach the mark of 3000 runs. He reached the milestone while helping his team, Peshawar Zalmi, chase the mammoth target of 207 against the Quetta Gladiators in a match.
Babar Azam made a prolific 65, but it was not enough as his team fell short of the run chase by a small margin of 16 runs.

Babar is the leading run-getter in PSL history at present, and no other batter is anywhere close to the former Pakistan skipper.

However, this innings also helped Babar get close to the iconic landmark of 10,000 runs in the shortest format of the game overall.

Babar currently has 9,926 runs in his tally, and 74 runs more will make him the 13th player in the history of Twenty20 cricket to get to the milestone and second from Pakistan after Shoaib Malik.

After the 91-run opening partnership between Babar and Saim Ayub, Zalmi kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Players like Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Rovman Powell got starts but failed to get going for the Zalmi to win the contest as the Gladiators won the match by 16 runs in the end.
