Indian women’s team won the title of Asia Cup 2022 in a one-sided encounter against Sri Lanka. Indian pacer Renuka Singh bowled a majestic spell, and the opponent team players fell like a deck of cards. Sri-Lankan women won the toss and decided to bat first; their start was not so good, and they lost half of their side in the power play. Only two batters of Sri Lanka got to score in double figure. The Sri Lankan side set a lousy target of 69 runs on the board. From the Indian side, Renuka Singh bowled a magical spell, took three wickets and conceded only 5 runs. Whereas Sneh Rana and Gayawad bagged 2-2 wickets each.

Team India completed the run-chase in 8.3 overs to secure the Asia Cup title. Indian opener Smriti Mandhana smashed an unbeaten 51 runs in 25 balls. This is India’s seventh Asia title. Pacer Renuka was named the Player of the Match for her bowling masterclass. All-rounder Deepti Sharma, took 13 wickets in the Asia Cup, was named the Player of the Tournament.
