Indian Premier League 2023 will start on 31st March. And there are only a few days left at the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, but before that, franchises are getting major blows in the form of players’ unavailability for the tournament.
Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants got a major blow, as left-arm fast bowlers Mukesh Chaudhary is nearly ruled out of the whole tournament, and Mohsin Khan is a doubtful starter for IPL 2023.
In the IPL 2022 season, Mukesh Chaudhary did a great job for the team with the new ball in the absence of Deepak Chahar. Kashi Vishwanathan, CEO of the Chennai Super Kings team, told Cricbuzz that he has little hope for Mukesh to play in the upcoming season.
Kashi Vishwanathan said in his statement that we are waiting for Mukesh, but we have little hope that he will be seen playing this season. He was the main bowler of our team last season, and it is quite unfortunate that he might not be seen playing this season.
Mukesh Chaudhary is still in rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to recover from his back injury.
On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants’ pacer Mohsin is a doubtful starter for the upcoming season. LSG bought him at the base price of INR 20 lakhs in the IPL 2022 player auction and retains him in 2023. He produced impressive performances with the ball in his maiden season, picking 14 from nine matches at an average of 14.07.
Mohsin was one of the star performers of the LSG last year and helped them make it to the playoffs in his first-ever IPL season.
Last season, Mukesh Chaudhary made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings and took 16 wickets in 13 matches. The team of Chennai Super Kings has to play its first match in the upcoming season against the defending champions Gujarat Titans on 31st March. Lucknow Super Giants will start their campaign against Delhi Capitals on 1st April in Lucknow.
