Team India is currently playing against England in a five-match test series; however, just after the completion of the England series and the IPL, India is set to enter the mega-showpiece event of the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
The Honorable BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed in an event that Team India is going to enter the upcoming T-20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be played in June in the USA and West Indies under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
Shah also spoke to the media regarding the new rules in which it will be mandatory for the players to play red ball cricket for playing in the IPL. Shah also stated that the selectors will be given free hands in case the player does not follow the instructions.
Shah also said that everything will be followed under the guidance of the NCA because if any player’s body is not able to take the load of both red and white ball cricket, it will not be imposed on them forcefully to follow the protocol.
Shah also spoke about the players who are currently not available for selection due to personal reasons, which is the case with the run machine of world cricket, Virat Kohli, who’s currently unavailable for selection due to personal reasons.
Shah said that it is the right of the player to ask for leave for personal reasons as the individual has been serving Indian cricket for over 15 years. Shah said that a player who is the legend of the game will not ask for leave without any reason, and we must support and back our star players.

However, Shah did not give a clear indication on Virat Kohli, saying that Rohit Sharma is going to lead India in the upcoming World Cup. Details regarding Virat will be revealed later.
Apart from Virat Kohli, Mohamed Shami has also been out of action since the completion of the World Cup. Shah said that Shami is currently undergoing trials for making a comeback, and when he is fit and available, everyone will be informed about the same.
