According to the sources report, Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya likely will be India’s next white ball skipper in T20Is. Sources told the media that BCCI is planning and discussing with Hardik Pandya.
“We have this plan, and we discussed it with Hardik. He has asked for a response for some days. No decision has been taken in this regard, but we are currently in the thought process to give him the white-ball captaincy; let us see how things go further,” according to the source.
In recent times, Hardik’s performance in IPL 2022 was fantastic; in the 15 games, he scored 487 runs with a marvelous average of 44.27 and grabbed eight wickets in the tournament; under his captaincy, Gujarat Titans clinched their maiden IPL trophy.
In the blue jersey, he was named as the skipper against the minnows Ireland for the two T20I match series that was won by the Indian team by 2-0. And after the T20 World Cup 2022, the Indian team went on a New Zealand tour to play the three-match T20I series, which the men in blue won by 1-0.
This year Hardik scored 607 runs in 25 innings with a good average of 33.72 and also took 20 wickets. His innings are laced with three half-centuries, and his highest score is 71*.
