RCB’s Reece Topley: A Blow to Their IPL 2024 Campaign?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to take place in more than a month’s time. As per the reports, the 17th season of the Mega Cash Rich League is all set to take place in the last week of March.

However, ahead of the IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore have been dealt a huge blow as their retained player Reece Topley is all set to miss another IPL season, as per the latest reports.

Topley has been recently ruled out of the Pakistan Super League due to a niggle. The England cricket board has refused to give NOC to the pace bowler, due to which he will not be able to take part in the upcoming PSL season.

Now this isn’t only a setback for Multan Sultan, the PSL franchise, who signed Topley for the upcoming season, but also for Royal Challengers Bangalore, who have secured his services for the 17th season of the IPL.

Well, this is not the first time that Topley has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. In the previous season of the IPL, he represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in their opening match against the Mumbai Indians, after which he suffered a shoulder injury that ruled him out of the entire tournament.

Topley was recently seen in action in the SA 20 league, where he played for the Durban Super Giants. He picked up 12 wickets in 10 matches in the tournament. However, as per the latest reports, Chris Jordan is all set to replace him in the squad for the upcoming season of the IPL.

Jorden was an earlier part of the RCB squad that played in the 2016 final; however, the official announcement of Chris Jordan’s signing hasn’t been made by RCB so far.
