However, despite the accident’s severity, the life of the flamboyant Indian swing bowler was saved. The incident occurred when a canter collided with Praveen Kumar’s car, where he and his son were present. The driver of the canter was apprehended by people at the scene and handed over to the police.
Praveen Kumar, known for his ability to wreak havoc with his swing bowling, represented India in Test, One-Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. He played 6 Test matches, claiming 27 wickets and 68 ODIs, where he took 77 wickets. In addition, he played 10 T20I matches and secured 8 wickets.
According to reports, Praveen Kumar and his son are safe following the accident. The incident occurred around 10 pm on Tuesday when Praveen Kumar was traveling in his defender vehicle from Pandav Nagar. The car was hit by a speeding canter approaching from the opposite direction.
Witnesses immediately apprehended the canter driver and handed him over to the police. The Civil Line Police Station and SP City Piyush Kumar arrived at the spot upon receiving the information. The canter driver was taken into custody and brought to the police station for further investigation. The CO confirmed that Praveen Kumar and his son escaped the accident without major injuries.
Praveen Kumar played his last international match for India in 2012; since then, he has not had the opportunity to represent the national team. Despite the premature end to his international career, he made a memorable impact during his tenure. Praveen Kumar’s debut for India took place in 2007, and he quickly made a name for himself with his swing bowling prowess.
