Breaking News: Delhi Capital Announced Replacement Of Rishabh Pant For IPL 2023

Delhi Capitals star player Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of IPL this year due to injury, and that is why his franchise started searching for a good wicket-keeper batter as his replacement.

According to the information received by sources, Abhishek Porel, a rising young talent from Bengal, who impressed as a wicket-keeper batsman this season in domestic cricket, has emerged as a prime candidate to replace the injured Rishabh Pant in the Delhi Capitals squad for IPL 2023.

DC had a pre-season camp at the Jadavpur University campus in Kolkata, and Porel was called to the camp. Earlier, he also participated in the trials of Delhi Capitals and impressed the coaches, as a result of which he was summoned.

After officially appointing David Warner as the captain in place of Rishabh Pant recently, their focus is now on a wicket-keeper batsman, and Abhishek Porel’s performance against Sisodia has been even more mediocre. Porel, who made his white-ball debut for Bengal last season, has played only 3 domestic T20 matches. Recently Sourav Ganguly was appointed as the Director of Cricket of Delhi Capitals.

Porel and Sisodia were the two names included in the first phase of the trial, which took place in Kolkata on 25 and 26 February. Sisodia and Porel are also left-handed batsmen like Rishabh Pant. Now, Delhi team management goes ahead with Porel in mind.
