Breaking News: Big Blow For Punjab Kings, Star All-Rounder Out From The First Match Against KKR

Indian Premier League is set to start on 31st March, and overseas players are coming to India to join the camp of their franchises. Now only 2 days are left before the start of the IPL, and before that, Punjab Kings faces another setback. England’s explosive batsman Liam Livingstone will not be available for the first match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

All-rounder Liam Livingstone will not be available for the first Punjab Kings (PBKS) match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Livingstone is yet to get permission from the England Cricket Board. Livingstone, who is recovering from injury, has not been fully fit. PBKS will play its first match of this season against Kolkata Knight Riders on 1st April in Mohali.

According to a PTI report, Liam Livingstone will not be seen playing in the opening matches of IPL. Due to this, the Punjab team has started looking weak once again.

“He is out of the first game, at least as the ECB conducts scans to determine his fitness status. He should be available from the second game onwards,” an IPL source told PTI.

Now, the headache of Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan is about to increase. Johnny Bairstow, the veteran player of the Punjab team, has already been ruled out of the entire IPL season due to injury. Australia’s uncapped batsman Matthew Short has been signed in his place.

Apart from this, Delhi Capitals pacer Kagiso Rabada will also not be available for the first match. Rabada is with the national team and is about to play the ODI series against the Netherlands. He will be able to come to India only after 1st April.
